While this lesson is mostly disguised as a self-portrait, which has benefits in itself, it will be stressed to students that only one paper will be provided. They will be told to work carefully as well and in the case that they do make a mistake, they will be instructed to try to make it work in their piece without scribbling it out as many young artists often do with artwork they aren’t happy with.

Before presenting the lesson to the students, I painted my own portrait using different colors to show the kids that they could experiment and have fun.
