Students will be able to make connections between seasons and art-making. The ability to make sensory connections while creating is vital in growth and development in younger students. It helps them to feel more connected to what they are working with and can help with emotional regulation.
This lesson will also help students make connections with nature by observing textures, colors, and structure.

I created an incomplete teacher sample that allowed me to demo the steps to create leaf prints. I then colored in one of my leaves to show the students which areas to color in.

The students really enjoyed this lesson, as they were a gifted 4th grade class. The lesson matched up to a science subject they were learning about at the time.
